Rave review from international film festival founder.

Picture
In an electronic newsletter sent on May 30th, 2012, Del Weston (creator and founder of Action on Film International Film Festival) comments about the latest Country Studios film, Fortune's Favored. Here is the piece:

"First of all, this is no ordinary film.  From the opening frame to the end credits, this is one the most gorgeous films we have seen all year.  Not only is it shot incredibly well, but the project is simply beautiful to look at.

The story is about a young man named Charles who is on his way home from working on the Golden Gate Bridge in 1937.

Writer, Producer, Director Daniel Lahr has taken a simple story and through his deft hand, created something of real courage and brilliance.  How many directors today would eschew the violence, profanity and salacious elements so prevalent in film today and make something so simple and charming instead?  Not many.  But Lahr and his supporting cast and team really pull out all the stops to give us a realistic view of times gone by without preaching or sermonizing.

We really like this film.  The music, dialogue, performances and direction are pitch perfect and after watching this short, we think that the good fortune is all ours.

Fortune's Favored will screen as part of the 2012 AOF Festival."
