On September 18th, 2011, the 63rd Prime Time Emmy Award show broadcasted live to the world from the Nokia Live Theater in Los Angeles, California.
Daniel Lahr was working hard behind the scenes as a member of the Production Staff to make the show run smoothly. Working with fellow production assistants on the big day and days leading up to the show, the show went off with no issues at all. This was Daniel Lahr's first live broadcast job and first award show. Degree in hand! Daniel Lahr receives BFA.
On May 27th, 2011, Daniel Lahr graduated from the Academy of Art University in San Francisco, California.
It was in his first weeks at the Academy that Daniel created Metal Detector Man in Santa Barbara and received praise in the school paper. He went on to create other films like Wounded Heart and even completing an entire feature film, Out of the Blue while being a full time student at the academy. Daniel Lahr received a Bachelor's of Fine Arts degree from the school of Motion Picture and Television with and emphasis in directing. LATEST NEWSHill Country gives "BEST ACTOR" nod to Richard Hoag.
Fortune's Favored was part of the Hill Country Film Festival in Fredricksburg, Texas.
After having a great panel discussion, screening and Q&A afterwards, the cherry was put on top in the form of Richard Hoag, star of Fortune's Favored, was nominated for "Best Actor." The nomination went to the "Best Actor" of all films at the festival; including shorts and feature films. We are very proud of Richard Hoag for this nomination and proud to be up there with such other wonderful films. More "Action" coming for Fortune's Favored.
Del Weston, the creator and founder of the Action on Film International Film Festival wrote to Daniel Lahr and gave the "official nod" that Fortune's Favored will be a part of the festival this year. It runs from August 17-25 in Monrovia, California.
"We couldn't be happier going back to Action on Film," says Daniel Lahr. "This was my very first film festival I ever got into with 'End of a Rope' back in 2007. Fortune's Favored will be the fifth Country Studios film to be shown there! They've really become like a family now and we're so happy to be a part of it this year." Santa Barbara International Film Festival played home to the World Premiere of "Fortune's Favored" in it's 2012 line up!
Most of the cast and crew were on hand at the Lobero Theater on Wednesay, February 1st to watch the short film. The film closed with a rousing applause from the audience. "It was very gratifying to me to have strangers come up to me after the screening and tell me how this film truly affected them," Daniel Lahr said. "I couldn't be happier with the response it has received and I look forward to attending many more film festivals with 'Fortune's Favored.'"
