CafeFX - Assistant Visual Effects Editor
Daniel Lahr began as an intern in the editorial department for the visual effects company in 2007. Based out of Santa Maria, Daniel found great joy in being able to work on Hollywood films in his own backyard. He worked on many projects, most uncredited, but has the highest honor of working on HBO's John Adams. CafeFX won an Emmy for their work on the show for Outstanding Visual Effects for a Miniseries, Movie or a Special in 2008.
He left in 2008 to finish his degree at the Academy of Art University.
In 2010, CafeFX announced it would close. Jeff Barnes, co-owner of CafeFX, would later come and be a keynote speaker at the Central Coast Entertainment Expo in 2022.

“Daniel is someone I would work with again. He has a good work ethic. He does not get easily distracted. He gets the job done and then asks for more. He is a person who gets on board with the plan and then figures out how to solve any problems that might be standing in his way.
